Storm Damaged Barn

Mid Devon

We were asked to attend the site of a severely damaged timber, tile and stone barn after a veteran oak tree fell through it during a winter storm. The trunk of the tree had completely destroyed the barn in the centre, damaging the contents within and had become entangled in the rubble.

We needed to secure the area to ensure the safety of vehicles and pedestrians on the neighbouring road and farm track, and then carefully remove the branches, trunk and stump of the tree.

We ensure that for every tree we remove or have to dismantle through storm damage we plant another sapling in a native species. We see this as part of our role in preserving the beautiful natural world for future generations.
